The strongest chip on the surface! NVIDIA CEO Huang Renxun: Blackwell goes into mass production in the fourth quarter
According to the news on August 29th, Nvidia announced its second quarter financial report for the fiscal year 2025 today. In the second quarter, Nvidia's revenue was $30 billion, a year-on-year increase of 122%, and its net profit was $16.599 billion, a year-on-year increase of 168%.
During the conference call after the financial report, Nvidia CEO Huang Renxun confirmed that Blackwell chips will begin mass production and shipping in the fourth quarter.
Regarding investors' concerns about the design of Blackwell chips, Huang Renxun stated that Blackwell does not need to undergo functional changes.
Huang Renxun also stated that Blackwell will have billions of dollars in sales revenue from the end of the year, and the company will need time to establish production capacity.
In March of this year, Nvidia launched a new generation of Blackwell GPU architecture for AI models, as well as the GB200 chip based on this architecture.
It is understood that GB200 consists of two B200 Blackwell GPUs and an Arm based Grace CPU, which improves the performance of inference big language models by 30 times compared to H100, and reduces costs and energy consumption by 25 times.
